nice to know we don't have to worry about swallowing a watermelon bone!

Bwhahaha oh that is just too funny!!!

Hi everyone! Just popped in to read the 15+ pages I missed haha. I don't know where all my time goes since I only have an unfinished coop and pathetic looking garden to show! I hope after everything here is finished being "started" this year that next year will be a lot smoother! I never understood why my parents were outside all day tending to this and that... Now I know... Now I get it!!

Hope everyone has a beautiful weekend!

I love the first crows and when they sound like they have low batteries!

Yea it is kinda like watching a toddler with its first steps.

Very fun to experience and makes you smile to watch.

Now comes the worry he will be meeting the older ladies and maybe Bean the 5 yr Bantam that keeps my flock safe.

Gosh I hope he wont fall

I had several roos together all different ages in a mixed flock that free ranged. Usually boss Man gives em a come to Jesus meeting and its done with... the junior male will keep watch on the fringes emulating "dad" in protecting the hens from predators. Better now while hes not full of himself yet.

I completely agree with the full of himself I just brought out the last of the bag of starter feed and will put the whole lot on grower with oyster shell available. Then I will introduce them. They have been in separate runs for 2 weeks now so they have been socializing. I am still going to keep the Silkies and the other Bantams apart from the LF flock as Lulu is tough on the littles He moved in with the baby LF Cochins that I got. Bean (that is my loyal roo, when he was tiny he looked like a coffee Bean) Has been a good rooster. He has had 2 others with him over the years. Mikey who came home with him died of sudden death last year after attacking my Granddaughter. And Hairy my Silkie roo who was given to me 2 years ago He died this spring respiratory issues too much rain and uncovered run. So i think they will be ok just that Lulu hasnt had anyone put him in his place yet.

I have an Importanr announcement to make!
