Mashed potatoes needed to be cooked more .... but we got enough scraped off to make everyone a pile.

I am usually good at always eating moderate portions.

I totally failed today, because EVERYTHING that we cooked was wonderful.

The smoked then fried turkey was so good that I almost cried. Add to that awesomeness some juicy pan bits and super creamy giblet gravy and giblet cornbread dressing and just WOW!!!!

Oh, the two pies were good too (cream cheese pumpkin and then a pecan pie).

Son 3 made yorkshire pudding and also fantail dinner rolls, SUPER GOOD!! (Especially the fantails).

I forgot to take photos. :/

I'm always impressed by cooking kiddos. BB2K lent me a hand in the kitchen; for once, we had everything ready at the same time! Won't be needing to do that again for a few days; so glad I have a microwave.

way to go perchie.girl. Thanksgivings over, gumbo is all gone, BRING ON CHRISTMAS! Had twin lambs born on Thanksgiving, one ram (boy),one ewe (girl), all is well, Lambing season has officially began. now it's wait, wait, wait. wait on eggs to hatch, wait on lambs to be born, wait on Christmas so I can give gifts.

My calm before the storm, busy turtle farming work begins after 1st of year again so this is the fun time of year for me. and I never get tired of popcorn, lucky me. If it would just get cool enough here in Louisiana so I could build a fire in the wood heater to watch the flames, to go with my popcorn.

Wow how busy you are.
Do you raise turtles for sale or for meat?
Do you plan for the lambs to be born in winter?
YOu must have quite a bit of land.

Hatchling turtles are for export as pets overseas, Yes, lambs born during winter are not bothered by pests such as gnats that carry diseases, flies and other flying, biting and annoying pests, lambs also eat more when weather is cooler, mothers will wake the lambs during night so they will eat to help them stay warm, they have a barn to stay in if they choose. which they do. trick is to leave a light on for them, like motel 6- for real no joke. I leave a light on for them 24 7, so they feel secure. they prefer to sleep where the light is. so they get fed in barn during winter. we have 240 acres. but I live a few miles from that farm at property where our turtle business is located. Hopefully, in few years we will be able to move to the larger farm we are buying where we can raise sheep and crawfish. We have to add acreage to our crawfish business before we can swap from raising turtles to crawfish and sheep. set backs in life make us really enjoy things more when those things we want finally get to us. Yes, we do stay busy but I'm greatful to be able to be back busy again. Just never to busy to thank God for blessings or to pray for others. I mostly read others comments on here to remind me I am not alone just that the sane people that are left in this world seem to be scattered. wonder if we(sane people) could all just move to our own continent, I mean our own planet. Nice, calm, hot coffee, cold tea, country farm - life. with a golden corral restaurant of course.
