I went over early to my elderly neighbor's house she had information to share with me... She is moving in with her daughter. She does not want to, but her children insist.
She did not want me to find out about from someone else.
Well... not happy because she is more family to my son and us than our own families. but It is probably for the best for her.
I spent two hours telling her that it could be wonderful and she has a daughter that WANTS her to be there, She has a loving family and it might be great.
All she can think about is her stuff.
it's just stuff to her family but to her, it is all she has ever been.

I am going to get rid of my stuff so it won't define me.
I don't want to be tied down because things are holding me back.
I learn so much from other people. By the time I am dead I should be well ready to start living.

Although... 70% of my stuff are books... I am really not sure I can part with them.
same with her.We should just start a library or something.

I was that way with my books.... I read and re-read often. Then I had the opportunity of a lifetime which was to buy my place now. I packed books for moving but as I opened each one I realized they were disintegrating. Paperbacks werent intended for long term saving.... they dont have paper that has preservative in it. So paper mites take up residence. No matter how well you care for them.

The hardbacks were a different story though. But you know they are still in boxes in my storage shed....

When I moved in to my house I vowed to not "collect" stuff as I had. and I was able to keep it that way for about four years. but you know? I still have my "stuff" from my old house in that 40 foot storage container. i need to tackle that storage container... and a small vehicle to get my good furniture up from there to my house. I suspect the Good Furniture is mostly ruined. its been thirteen years now.
