Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

corid is not an anti biotic and has worked well for me. Corid is not on the list of meds that need to have a prescription.

Have you looked into vaccinating for cocci

No, I want to avoid all vaccinations and medications. I want the birds to be chemical free. Whether I need a prescription or not makes no difference to me. I am trying to raise mine as close as I can to like they did 200 years ago. Except for the heat lamps, MHP, Incubators and stuff....

That is great!

I have used worm medicine and corid. I have not used corid in several years now though. I was told by the UCD necropsy place that I would need to vaccinate against mareks because one of my hens died of mareks cancer. I ignored that and have not had any trouble with mareks.

I use BOB and purina chicken feed. I do have some stuff with oregano oil in it but I have not given it to them in a while. I will likely use it soon though--we are moving into the hot time of the year. Last year we had four week long heat waves over 105. They hottest day was 111 last summer. We rarely have highs under 85 in the summer and that takes a lot out of them(and me of course). I still drink coffee though!

I still drink coffee too.

I try to avoid all drugs and meds, but I have swayed from the path. I end up isolating more than most people I think, and I may even have some die that antibiotics would save, so I am re-thinking everything,
I am the same. I have tried to stay as organic and drug free as possible but I have a habit of taking in damaged and/or otherwise rescued animals, including chickens. There are some times that the only hope of saving the creatures requires antibiotics.
I tried my entire life to keep myself as chemical free as possible as well. Mostly because I was always either allergic or highly sensitive to anything 'man made". Even was vegan for some time. Still can't eat most red meat because of the chemicals they're fed. I find the whole thing totally ironic now that I have been dependent these past nine years upon some very nasty chemicals to keep me alive. (tho I have entered a bit of a risky clinical trial so hopefully in a few weeks I may have some news)

OH, and I told my onc that he would be prying my coffee cup out of my cold dead hand!!!

Been there, done that; wondered about what else I may have done that I couldn't remember doing . . . .

I do not want to know about things done that I do not remember. That's way in the past back in a place that is now scary to visit. I like it right here and now.
