Mine too, I have a hip and knee I am willing to trade to someone.
Hi Ralphie,
Sorry. Looks like you are going to get the first "panhandle swing" storm of the season instead of us.

We're on the east side of it so we'll just be getting the liquid precip tomorrow, and dropping temps of course.
Fingers crossed it doesn't turn into an ice storm, rather have a foot of snow than an inch of ice.
Should get an inch or two of the white stuff on Sat and Sun morning, just in time for the open of gun deer but the ground isn't cold enough yet for any of it to stick for tracking this year.

Can't chat for long. Grandma (aka me) gets to play deercamp cook again, of course. Only a couple of the grand sons for opening weekend coming this year (so far) but it still means the same prep work just not as big a pot of deer chili etc. This crew will be heading back home on Sunday then the dads are coming later in the week for Thanksgiving and the final weekend (I think they're mostly hiding from the wives so they don't get drug off to Milwaukee for Black Friday shopping.

Well off I go to start the batches of my famous "Grandma's Deer Camp Cookies". I make several dozen but I'm still going to have to hide some or I will be baking cookies along with the pumpkin pies for the guys coming later in the week. I swear those boys are completely hollow!!!

It is cold in Idaho now. I am praying that it won't snow, 'cause I don't want to have to feed the cows until December. At the first sight of snow, they will come off the mountain and poo in my yard in protest! Please don't snow yet, please don't snow yet, please don't snow yet!

Sounds exciting @chickisoup ! And with Thanksgiving coming up, you must be really busy! My family won't be visiting my grandparents this year for Thanksgiving, so I feel sorry for my own poor Grandma having to cook for the whole clan!

I'm not sure why the thought of cows pooping in protest in your yard its hitting me so funny, but it is.

Oooooo, cows coming down from the mountains. Makes me remember my great uncle champ's farm in the Pine mtns of Kentucky. Not the MOUNTAINS you have surely, but I think that's where my dream of moving to Montana took root. Almost made it once, still dreaming here in the very flat, almost claustrophobic northwoods.

The one real saving grace with only 3/4 an acre no room for horse's, cattle,
goats or anything but chickens thank heavens
