How big of opening should i have for my chicken door is 14 1/2 wide by 16 good or no.

That is plenty big. Mine is 12" x 12". A Midget White turkey had no trouble using it. Midget Whites are fairly small turkeys but are bigger than a chicken.

Mine is 4ftx3ft, it's very easy for me to get through to clean the run.

You can have which ever size you'd like. We actually have a full size steel door to close from the run to coop, we closed off the top half, so sun couldn't heat up the coop in the summer. Our coop is inside our garage, which is nice for me!

depending on breed.... I went with 16" high X 12" wide... However, If I were to do it again, I would double the width to avoid
traffic jams at the door. Just my personal opinion. so couple inches taller than your breed's final height and twice the width plus a couple inches.. but the single width plus 2 or 3 is fine.......
