sizzle, frizzle, and frazzle???

Pics
So a Sizzle is frizzle to silkie but true barbed feathers. A Frazzle is frizzle to frizzle which is not a good combo!!

You got it!
I've never heard of a pekin before. I googled images of them and they look just like a bantam cochin. Then I started reading and found this, "There is considerable debate concerning whether or not Cochin Bantams are Pekins or miniature Cochins."
I wonder if the name is more about locale than anything else. I've only heard of bantam cochins around here (co).

Pekins and Cochins are pretty much the same thing. Mostly just depends on which side of the "pond" you live on

That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the confirmation.

I have a question now that I'm noticing a lot more frizzled variety in other breeds of chickens...How does one go about getting a frizzled, lets say Polish, and still have it be a "pure" polish chicken? I guess what I'm asking is how did the first frizzled polish get created? Did they cross a smooth polish with a frizzled cochin and then eventually keep working towards the polish standard to get the cochin bred out? I'm just curious as to how people are getting all these frizzled breeds now and the breeds still being listed as "pure" what ever they are. I've seen Frizzled Seramas, I picked up a couple of LF frizzled cochin chicks a couple of weeks ago...

I am hopefully getting a trio of frizzle hens and a silkie rooster either tomorrow or next week. I will post pictures when I get them.

My Hubby is buying me the frizzled cochinXsilkies hens and a silkie or cochin rooster to go with them today! I am so excited. I have wanted th for years and we found someone just 10 minutes from our house who ostentatiously selling some

Okay so all I can say is yikes... I bought three birds just to get them out of there!
I am currently getting things ready to give them a bath and then I will mix up some electrolites with their water. The rooster is filthy but otherwise seems okay. The poor hens are missing big patches of feathers and the feathers they do have are so matted in filth I can't tell if they are brittle from dirt or if they are actually frazzled hens.
The lady selling them was trying to sell me a frizzle rooster to breed to them and seemed confused when I asked for a silkie instead so I wouldn't end up with frazzled chicks
