sizzle, frizzle, and frazzle???

I was told my roostes I came home with are 1 silkie (black) and 1 frizzle rooster (white). Mr. Frizzle has been moved to an almost all shade avery as he is sunburning and has little feathers. Any ideas? He was given to me and I feel sorry for him.

Could be a hard molt, or he may have gotten double frizzle genes. Can you post a picture?

That does not sound good. I'm not familiar with all the names/breeds. My 1st 3 silkies ever

Well, you’d get 100% frizzled babies if you mate it to smooth feathered birds.

They have s hard time regulating body temp so need extra shade in summer and extra warmth in winter.

They’re also reputed to have some other health problems but I don’t know much about that.

Thank you.

I've done that and this winter I'll move him again. Thank you for your help.

I know this is kind of an old thread, but I want to share a possible sizzle I hatched out of normal silkie chickens.

See the feather quills above the secondaries that are curling upwards?
