(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes and no.. Had chickens when younger, started again little over a month ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 17 in coop 13 in brooder (keep brothers and brother in laws until ready to go outside)
(3) What breeds do you have?
2 fcm, 2 slw, 1 cochin bantam cockeral, 2 golden laced sebrite , 1 ee, 1 bjg. 1 wlh, several different bantam flavors
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Stress reliever, good for my mom who has dementia, good learning opportunity for my teenagers.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Acrylic artist, crochet /knit , gardening (vegs and flowers)
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm a single mother of 17yo identical twin daughters and 18yo son. I quit working (bartender)to take care of my mother full time. ( schizophrenic with dementia) I have 5 small dogs, chihuahua mini poodle mix, 3 pygmy goats on way.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC thru a Google search (trying to decide which breed of chickens to purchase ) I lurked for a month, joined to ask what flavor (breed lol) my Bantams were I have learned so much from this community of chicken lovers.
