I recently adopted 2 llamas from a rescue group. I am new to llamas and am wondering the best way to build up their trust of me. (I believe they were neglected.......not abused) They will eat from my hand (standing as far away as possible) if I have something yummy, but if I make any move to touch them they are gone. I was told that if you can get a halter on them they are very good. I would eventually like to be able to have them in 4-H and maybe take them on some hikes. I know they tend to be an aloof animal anyway...... Suggestions?
