Skunk attack

I have had issues with the stinky little devil's myself. I might suggest that you purchase a live trap and put it out in the vicinity of your coop. Where there is 1 skunk there will be more. When I first bought my farm the very first winter I learned that the crawlspace under the main house was a favorite winter home for peppi le pew and his girlfriends, the next spring I fumigated the house and trapped and,,, eliminated 9 of those nasty buggers. No problems since, and no I don't feel bad one bit for ending 9 skunks after spending a winter above a skunk love nest (they spray when they mate and they mate all winter)

I’m dreading it lol I hate needles I know it’s more important than getting rabies but i’m stressed.
Alright, forgive me for my morbid curiosity please, but...it used to be (according to what was 'commonly known') that you had to get the shots in the stomach and they were very painful. May I ask, where did they 'shoot' you, and was it very painful? And I am SO sorry for what happened! As soon as we read the description of the behavior of the skunk, we looked at each other and said "That skunk had rabies!" Was hoping not, though! I will hope any of your outside animals are current on their rabies shots!!

I don't know how big your run is, but I use a 14x14 bird netting on top of my fencing. That bird netting cost me about $7.00 at our local farm store. Amazon has a bigger choice (and more sizes) and it's not all that expensive. But, I have suffered no hawk or eagle attacks the first year. Before you give it all up, maybe check out some lost cost protection alternatives.

I sometimes wish I could free range my birds out in my 3 acres. But we have hawks and Bald Eagles overhead almost every day (I live on a lake). People around here that free range their birds are called former chicken owners. So I keep my girls in a chicken run with bird netting on top. So far, no attacks.
My runs covered! Thanks though!

I got them in my arms and upper thighs. The arms didn’t hurt but the legs were pretty bad. My animals are vaccinated.
