Skunk wars !!!

Quote:
Skunks will kill the chickens if they can, they also eat their eggs.

Besides being little stinkers they are one of the primary reservoirs of rabies in North America.

Mr Stinky usually is given a wide berth by most animals and is unlikely to be deterred by any animals you have. He is however quite lazy and will usually be content to dig up your lawn searching for grubs and the like.

The other critters you have dealt with are more likely to cause you trouble, however I won't take the chance that Pepe will leave my birds alone. Especially since grubs are getting scarce on my lot because I am waging biological warfare on them.

We have had a big problem with skunks here lately. Suburb of Detroit, Troi MI. My Yorkie mix got skunked 3 times in one month!
We only have a large lot, all fenced with privacy fencing. Those skunks dig under! They (one?) dug under our shed and we finally got rid of him.
We put up motion lights at each corner of the garage and keep patrolling the bottom of the fence for more holes. (then block them with bent coathanger wire, upside down u shape)
So far skunkless for a month or so. Good luck!
I have heard skunk and raccoon urine/droppings can carry disease?

Send it to my house! I love skunks and am always sad that we don't have them where I live. I had a pet one once, and she was easily the best pet I ever had. Hope to have another one someday. It is true they are a threat to chickens, but that is why I use welded hardware cloth on all my pens instead of chicken wire. Had neighborhood dogs tear into my chicken wire pens and kill everything too many times
