Sled dog breeding

Hey AB, how is your female today?

Things got insane at my house. One of my females in heat, got super dog aggressive, she is also flagging and wanting to mate. I think and hope her heat is causing the the attitude change. I am the only one who can safely handle her, anyone else and chaos ensues. The other dogs are willing to engage with her and I am the only 1 all the dogs obey. My husband and kids are getting a scary crash coarse in why dog obedience and handling skills are necessary when running a pack. I am actually getting a pinch collar for her tonight, something I swore I would never do. But she went from sweet and loving to insane over night.

On a different note. Tomorrow my boys start agility classes, and we have Fiona's meet and greet right before class. After the agility class we have an obedience class. So I will have 4 dogs and 2 kids with me most of the day tomorrow. should be fun, lol. I am preying that nothing happens and the meet and greet goes well for Fiona. I want her in a safe, happy home to be spoiled rotten as an only dog, lol. This special girl deserves it.

:fl tomorrow goes well!

Her behavor sound like a hormonal change. Lol and I'm the only one who can control 3 out of 5 of our dogs. So I get how you feel. Our girls get in fights way to many times but there's realy good reasons for it. And the three that fight just happen to be our 3 large dogs. 1's 100+ lbs, the others 80+ lbs and then nala 44ish lbs

It is a hormone change due to her heat. But that dies not matter, she started fights with 3 of our other dogs last night . If the others hadn't backed off when I called them off, she would have been killed last night. She went straight into red flag behavior. I have been raised with large aggressive breeds since birth. I know the signs of dangerous behavior and she has them. I am not going to wait, I am going to put my shoe up her fuzzy butt, bring her down a peg or 2, and remind her why she needs to obey. She is the alpha female of the pack, which is going to make things more interesting. But I will straighten her out, or I will euthanize her. I don't want to euthanize, she hasn't showed any human aggression, but if I can't get her under control I will put her down.

Wooow! What about spaying her!?!?

Last night the kids and I were gone for 3 hours and my husband has the dogs. He told me about the fights and that he broke them up. I have no idea what he did, but today that female is growling at the other dogs, and is out of control.

The plan is to work on her here at home until the heat is over, then take her to a professional aggressive dog trainer. If, after all that she still has aggression issues, I will probably euthanize her.

And you keep saying "she's the alpha in the pack" where's that put you under her? You should see your self as the alpha.

Spaying helps!! It helped alot with my lab/heeler.

She will be spayed. But whatever happened while I was gone has sent her straight into dangerous dog behavior. It would be very irresponsible of me to send her to someone else and risk her injuring or killing a dog. In my experience, aggression like this needs to be quickly controlled or it escalates. Obviously her temperment isn't sound, or this wouldn't have happened.
