Sled dog breeding

She will be spayed. But whatever happened while I was gone has sent her straight into dangerous dog behavior. It would be very irresponsible of me to send her to someone else and risk her injuring or killing a dog. In my experience, aggression like this needs to be quickly controlled or it escalates. Obviously her temperment isn't sound, or this wouldn't have happened.

There was supposed to be a smile face but I couldn't cuz nala was licking my phone lol
:)
How old is she?

Hey AB, how is your female today?

Things got insane at my house. One of my females in heat, got super dog aggressive, she is also flagging and wanting to mate. I think and hope her heat is causing the the attitude change. I am the only one who can safely handle her, anyone else and chaos ensues. The other dogs are willing to engage with her and I am the only 1 all the dogs obey. My husband and kids are getting a scary crash coarse in why dog obedience and handling skills are necessary when running a pack. I am actually getting a pinch collar for her tonight, something I swore I would never do. But she went from sweet and loving to insane over night.

On a different note. Tomorrow my boys start agility classes, and we have Fiona's meet and greet right before class. After the agility class we have an obedience class. So I will have 4 dogs and 2 kids with me most of the day tomorrow. should be fun, lol. I am preying that nothing happens and the meet and greet goes well for Fiona. I want her in a safe, happy home to be spoiled rotten as an only dog, lol. This special girl deserves it.

tomorrow goes well!

wow and I LOVE Pinch or prong collars. they look mean but a 20x better for the dog then a choke. 1. you can't accidentally "over choke" your dog. 2. the make the dog feel like their mother is correcting them.

my girl is fine. super moody today though. i will pray for tomorrow

And you keep saying "she's the alpha in the pack" where's that put you under her? You should see your self as the alpha.

I am top dog, supreme ruler or whatever. But the dogs have a pecking order among themselves in a pack. This female is the top female dog, when free playing, the other dogs give way to her. She gives way to me, which is as it should be. I just wish I knew what the hell happened while I was gone. I have never heard of such a rise in aggressive behavior without warning. I have trained my pack, alone and together, I have always been firm and fair, I don't hit them or abuse them, we go for walks, they are fully vaccinated. Usually there is a reason for aggression, but I can't figure this out. That's what bothers me the most, what caused this. I am pretty sure I can straighten her our, I've worked dogs much bigger and meaner than her. But if this can happen to her, who I would have said had a stable sweet personality, can it happen to my dogs? Did my hubby hurt her when he broke it up? Did he spank her or something? If so, why is she aggressive to the other dogs suddenly, and not him? in order to fix it, I need to know what happened.

In dog packs there is 2 alphas. The alpha male is the main alpha. He is # 1. The owner is viewed as the alpha male (yes you are a male in your dogs eyes). The alpha female is #2. If the alpha male isn't around she is in control. she is directly under alpha male.

If he phycly corrected her, she could be mad at the other dogs cuz SHE got a booboo. Lol
I wasn't questioning you ranking, I was trying to be funny but I forgot the lol's and :)'s.

I have an issue with chokes and prongs. I have never needed one to train a dog before. But I've never had a dog go from super sweet to killer over night either. And it's hard to imagine what could cause such a drastic change so quickly. So I'm breaking down and putting a prong on her. She is dangerous to the other dogs and in danger from them as well. I have her completely separated from them, but accidents happen and I need a method to ensure she is under control at all times.

Dawn was the most sweet girl. She gave kisses, cuddled, snuggled, played, and was gentle with the other dogs until last night.

she might view your "hubby" as an equal. she might be stressed about something. When my husky died, my lab, Cindy, got crazy dog aggression. she blamed every dog for Griz's death. she used to be super sweet, like baby sitter sweet. she's back to herself now, but she had to be muzzled around dogs for a week and a half
