Sled dog breeding

It's a good opinion, and more in depth than I was able to give. I think her pasterns are a tiny bit weak, or maybe she was standing funny like you said. All in all, a fair assessment of the dog. After this meet and greet tonight I will have to get a few photos of my pup Phantom. He is under a year old, seems to have a good body and nice angulation on his legs. But I am just a beginner, so I would welcome your opinions of my pup. I am hoping to get him titled in AKC conformation. But we are starting late, and he isn't from a winning, well known kennel. Since conformation is a lot of politics, well we may not have a shot.

Comment on a puppy's conformation? A male at that? NEVER!!!!

The prosternum is where the rib cage meets. It feels like a nub in the front of the chest.

Phantom is leg shy, I am working on getting him over that, but I have learned how to move the bait to get him to move his legs into the right position for a free stack.

Ok she's got a medium sized one. I know she's got a ok sized one cuz I had to make a sled harness.

I'd prefer not to use a professional handler, but I may end up having too. First though I want to see how he does against the local dogs with me handling before I take that step. If I can place with him, I will probably get a handler for the big majors.

Have you read the book show dog: by josh dean? It is a great book. It's about a Aussie and his handler. It give you a view of what show life is like.

Some dogs don't like anyone leaning over them. It might be that as opposed to OMG- you're going to trim my nails, I know it. Anyway- I start teaching my dogs to stack on a grooming table. Limited room for them to go, you can walk all around them, you don't have to lean over them and all legs are within reach. Oh and class instructor, a stranger, isn't leaning over them either. I've done it that way for all my different breeds, not just the "groomed" ones. Makes it less stressful for them at vets too- they're used to table and someone looking them over .

Dratted kindle is skipping whole words now. I must have a ghost typing along with me.

You might want to invest a few 100$ and get happy legs. It's a stacking tool that almost all perfessional handlers use. It's 4 platforms that are just big enough for 1 foot. Google it.

I need your opinions! Nala's realy worring me!
