it does work, they dont like it at all and you can tell they dont just shrug it off. It gives them something to think about. Some little nippy dogs need it again and again. I havnt bit one of my dogs in years come to think of it................wow...you can ad that to the list of strange things i have said

I will remember that in case I have a dog that don't learn bite inhibition the way I normall teach them, lol.

My problem is 2 fold. I have a alpha b**ch in heat turning 2, which is when the majority of their hormones kick in. The second problem is my hubby not knowing crap about dogs. I made some mistakes, like mixing a Rott with Siberians. But my hubby completely mishandles the rott and NEVER hit a dog, especially not when it's already in fight mode. If he had landed that hit on her she could have turned her aggression on him. Very dumb thing to do. I was already re-homing Fiona for her sake, but now more than ever I need to get her away from my incompitant husband. The majority of the fights happen on his watch. Unfortunately it has happened so much it's now a habit for Dawn to attack, and Fiona has had it with her. I have too. I'd much prefer to keep Fiona and get rid of Dawn. But hubby can't be trusted with Fiona, he is just too clueless about the breed. Also Dawn is in no danger from my hubby, he spoils her rotten, which does make her issue worse.

Before I started taking some of the dogs to agility and conformation classes, we had little to no problems. Now that I'm gone more, the issues have started and escalated at a frightening rate. It's from my husbands incompetence. I need to train him.

Drag h to the dog class with you! Bring Dawn with him. And tell him that she get the Nothin In Life Is Free treat meant! When she's aggressive she gets NO good when she's sweet she gets food. You can start working her in your house with her mane problem, HIM! He needs to quite spoiling her, at least she's not aggressive. He's making the problem worse. You can also do NILISF with her towards Fiona. She gets food when she's not attacking her, and then she get NO food when she is. I don't know if this will help for u but it did for me. My girls like each other now.

I am taking Dawn to obedience as soon as she is out of heat. Since my hubby won't go, I'm handling her, which the trainer and I both think might be best at first. Dawn attacks Fiona the most, but she has also tried her crap with Cheyenne and Rascal. So I feel, and trainer agrees, that she needs an experienced handler on her until we get her under control. At home, because I don't want my sons in the middle of a aggressive dog situation, and my hubby is no help at all, there is no way I can work her with the dogs she has a problem with safely. Also, a dog in heat is hormonal just like a girl having PMS, only worse. Think about how grouchy women get once a month, dogs get that way twice a year. Dawn only goes into heat once a year because of the Texas heat, same with other Siberians down here. I am working on Dawn alone, away from any other dogs, at these times she readily sits, downs, etc. so she still knows I'm the boss and need to be obeyed. She will even obey both my sons when she is out and alone, which is great.
