So I was all set to get a few pairs of Portugese Tumbler pigeons and I just read an article that said that Tumblers don't fly, but roll on the ground. I specifically chose this breed because they could fly. Any help would be great!

Tumblers don't fly, but roll on the ground.
There is a breed of bird that does what you described they are referred to by most fanciers as "Parlour Rollers (or tumblers)." Like you I am "not" a fan of the breed and regard more as a genetic defect more than a attribute (most likely culled at some point by fanciers.)
This breed came about by trying to breed a champion Tumbler.

This is where the confusion stems from.

The odds of your tumblers not being able to fly is very remote.

Parlour rollers are different from tumblers. I raise tumblers and they fly well. Tumblers fly in the air and tumble upwards, rollers like Birmingham rollers fly well also but roll downwards.
Parlour rollers can fly when young but as the mature they stop flying well and cant really fly up and start to do rolls on the ground.
But if you are getting tumblers, they will fly fine and there is no need to worry.
