I read all the suggestions for a slipped tendon. Last night the tendon slipped back into place and we wrapped it. But the leg seems swollen and the chick seems more uncomfortable now than before. At least it is doing a lot of peeping. Do you think the tendon is out of place again? I hate to think of this poor chick being in pain. Getting the tendon to go back into place took a long time it was not easy because of the swollen joint. Also I think it’s a bit upsetting to the other chicks because I haven’t been able to get them to respond to my efforts to show them how to eat/drink. I’ve raised chicks before and this is different in more ways than one!

There is one vet in the area that sees chickens and they don’t have any availability for the next few days. From what I understand this is something you have to correct pretty fast if it’s going to work.

did it work?
None of my efforts seemed to have helped the chick. I advertised on facebook and a man took it in (along with a couple free thrown in to sweeten the deal, but he may have anyway). He sent me a picture of a sling he was trying. But that chick was getting pretty good at hopping on one foot with its leg tucked in.maybe it will make it.

🤞Fingers crossed! 💛
