I had a pullet once that was born with neurological problems, it was extremely hard for her to peck at things, and she moved her head back and forth all day. she did lay though, about a dozen eggs, and they were all very small.

My hen had neurological problems so she could only eat out of a large feeder, and she couldn't peck things like bugs and grass. she also couldn't dust or groom. so I would give her a bath once in a while because she had horrible lice problems. I knew I wouldn't be able to give her a bath in the winter so, and I didn't want her lice to get worse, so I put her in the freezer with my roosters. it was probably the best for her, since she had trouble eating and grooming. fortunately your hen doesn't have that problem.I'm glad to hear there's a good chance she will lay. As long as she is physically alright I won't mind if she doesn't because we don't rely on eggs. We enjoy them and give away the extra, but their production is not as important to me as their health.
