I lost a few quail to these darn buffalo gnats. I hope they don't last too long. I've got to regorganize my pens, between a couple of escapees and the buffalo gnats the pens are a little out of balance. I want to get them sorted and organized and then leave them alone before they all go to laying.
 
I was wondering about this thread. It has been slow around here lately & I was thinking of digging this thread up.

Sorry about the gnats. I had something break into my coop the other night & kill all but 2 of my started pullets. It got about 100 of them.
 
Oh, no, that sounds like dogs. I had something get a full grown tom turkey and carry it off. I think it must have been a coyote or bobcat. I don't know anything else around here that could do that.

we have bobkitties here at va beach they are a lot of places and most folks just don,t realize it I worked for a couple of folks who keep birds /chickens I only caught 3 this year
