Slow Night Here In Quailville

Well, I thought about reviving it a time or two like I did before, but thought maybe it deserved a rest. I'm thinking about putting everything in the freezer for the winter and starting over with an early hatch of some sworn to be jumbos for my foundation stock this time. My slatebelt giant bobs are big. I would like to see some coturnix that have that kind of size difference on them.

Shelley I am glad to see you still here also. Your & JJMR's blood lines are still going in my flock & I get a white bird every hatch.

As for being Jesus, I am glad he is seen in me.

Bob question. I have some Bobwhite that are just now 4 months old. There are three males and three females(how did that happen?) Can I keep them together as a "covey" across the winter? If so, do they still need as much individual space, or are they more tolerant in the winter. Then how do I know when to separate them for breeding in the spring? These are some nice big "slatebelts" from wilds of PA. They are so much bigger than the regular bobwhites; I haven't weighed them yet, but I am really looking forward to raising some of these guys.

If Given Enough Space They Should Covey For The Winter Without Difficulty-- Bobs Are Aggressive And It Mnay Not Work, So I Suggest A Try And See With Close Supervision. I Would Seperat By Early Febuary Or Sooner If Pecking Starts. They Work Fast So Watch Them Closely And The Minute Aggression Starts Seperate
