Slow Night Here In Quailville

didnt we already do this once?

No, wait, that was bettacreek!

Nevermind!

Lmao. Yup, and it worked. I put 50 button quail eggs in without the BF knowing. I had to do a LOT of sneaking. I then waited until my jumbo coturnix eggs came, then opened them in front of him. He was like "what're those eggs for?" then walked out of the room, mad. He's fine now, though he said that if I got any more eggs, he'd eat them all for breakfast, lol. At least I know that he'll eat the eggs once the birds start laying!!!

My diy cabinet incubator will be starting tomatoe seedlings soon, then I will transfer them to the window. hoping to get a hatch ready for easter of quail & chickens. This winter is sure going slow time to get coffee on.

Starting tomato seeds in your incubator? First time I have heard of doing that. Interesting. I use mine for eggs. Ha!

Wow, I hadn't thought of that Skywatcher, but it makes sense. It keeps the seedlings warm so they grow fast, and since it's a homemade incubator it already has strong light.
I like it!

Yeah but who has time to take their bator down and use it as a greenhouse? I usually have a waiting list of eggs waiting to get into 1 of my bators!

Well, I guess that depends on how much winter you have. Not all of us are lucky enough to live in the sunshine state. Up here in the nasty North, it gets too daggone cold to hatch babies unless you keep them in the house. I can see how there would be some slack time to start Tomato seeds, but it wouldn't be too long. I figure right about now is getting real close to starting up the incubator time. In fact, I've got a small batch of Butler eggs coming to try. Hope it works and they don't freeze enroute.
