Hello! I was just wondering wether anoyone could help.
I found my hen this morning with her beak open, and dirt inside. She didn’t seem to be able to close it and upon closer inspection I found she has a dead slug jammed down the back of her throat and halfway in her beak. I got some warm water and started trying to scrub the slug out, and got lots of pieces out however a considerbale amount is still stuck in the back of her throat, making it impossible for her to drink or eat on her own. I was able to get some water into her with dripping the toothbrush into her throat but she still cannot close her throat. After this there she started bleeding a little so I stopped trying to get the slug put and tried to let her rest.
I am unsure of what to do next, does anyone know of this happening to their chicken or how I could fix this?
Very worried about her as she is not able to eat and there is no way of getting the slug now as it is right at the back of her throat and her head would move too much.
Thank-you in advance.
