We purchased Silver Laced Wyandotte chicks on hatch day - sexed as females. One died within a few days, and this one is growing and healthy. This bird, that we named "Sylvia", is 10 weeks old. My daughter is worried that this chicken is a boy and not a girl. Can someone confirm Female or male? Thx!

Here she is amongst the rest of the chickens - all 10 weeks old - a few boys mixed in. She is the only SLW (and is sitting next to the very light colored EE). So the SLW has a somewhat redder comb than the other females, but she is the only SLW, so no other one to compare to.

I would have figured the Spurs would be more pronounced at 10 weeks. My hens look a lot like your "guessing game". Lol

Spurs do not come until much much later. Combs should develop size and color very close to laying. Which at 10 weeks is at the very least 2 month away, but most likely more.

Hoping you are right. These were sexed, although it’s not 100 pct, I know. we bought 3 sexed EE from same place and pretty sure one of those is a boy too, so am hoping this is a girl and not another incorrectly sexed chicken.

I hope you post an update! In 4 weeks or so. I'm leaning toward boy. Not just because of the comb though. Rose combs flush easily and I did have a hatchery glw that had a large comb for a girl. This ones coloring is a bit more splotchy which says boy.
