Thanks every one for all your welcoming sentiments.....rjohns39 I like Dobies as well, had them 1980 till 2015...wife passed and I wanted to travel so my last one died shortly after and I don't want any more dogs...too hard when they leave you. Chickens will be enough work, and I was raised in a butcher shop so harvesting is not a problem. Besides I found a new to me girlfriend/wife and it was her idea to get the birds...

yes thy are, I do miss mine....smart 2......mine would let you in the house no problem ....try to leave if I was not there.....not a chance..

My niece's cattle dog is like that. Welcomes everyone to the house but, has to be confined when people are ready to leave.

I did not train them to do it either it is a built in response
