Small Chicken Coop (how inexpensive can you go)

Love this coop! It's really a great looking building. Very interesting PVC pipe feeder- that is a great idea. Does it roll very well? Neat idea of using those large cart wheels, but wonder if they might get hung up on the grass? Maybe not, though? Your chickens are beautiful!

It rolls nice, even with just one person pushing it. The casters are 10" pneumatic (air filled) tires, and they roll over uneven ground or over the grass lawn, better than a solid caster wheel would. I still have to make a pull handle for it (like on a kids wagon) because it's easier to pull things, than to push them. I move it about once a week, so it doesn't create a dead spot in the lawn.

Kudos from a recycler! You worked out a very good design and did well on the exicution. I think you will find it too small once you do the chicken math!

I seem to get all sorts of free wood and fence, but hardware and fasteners eat my budget. Like the poop tray, and the wheels. Us fixxit metal guys can really use a ruler and get creative with the fitting of ideas. Again Kudos! Your flock will love it.

Holy Moly! For a new chicken farmer you've totally tricked out your beautiful chicken coop with all the latest and greatest DIY designs!! What a super fabulous job (and super thrifty too).

Hat's off to you
