Small coop: where to put feed? Attracting nuisances i.e. raccoons.

No matter what you decide you are going to need a Predator Apron to protect from those masked demons. And please get in the habbit of putting you feeders in a can at night just so you don't feed the local mouse population.


Only thing I disagree with is using an apron material with such large openings. The wire mesh shown is good against bigger predators, but will not keep out mice and rats as they can easily fit between the openings. Aim for 1/2" openings or smaller.

Indeed....and the staple placement may split the wood, if they even hold against a strong digger.
Carolina Coop has great aesthetic flash, and some nice construction,
but a few questionable design and flock management issues.
