Small egg in yard???

We don't have guinea fowl, and don't know of any neighbors who have them. It was only one, just sitting there.

I do think it was from one of your old hens it is not large enough to hatch but you may get more eggs now from that hen of a larger size you can hatch.

Ok, but our hens don't go in that part of the yard, they have their own pasture and don't fly, (the roosters do though)

I actually think that's a turtle egg or some other reptile egg based off of the size and shape.

I also had that thought, that it could be a reptile egg of some sort.

I can't tell much by the picture but snowy owls lay this time of year.

Idk if its from our birds, because its so small. If its a reptile egg, why is there not more, and how would you incubate it?

We do not have that kind of egg layer out here
