Small eggs with small yolks and chicken age

Put a small tray full of food out and she will eat as she pleases grit is like small pebbles to help them digest food you might want to get some to help her digest the oysters shells

Her pen is all dirt and there are a lot of small pebbles in the dirt. There's also a sort of sandy area that she loves to scratch in for hours and there's lot's of small pebbles there too. I also put some playground sand in her pen. IS this all enough?

Does the playground sand have silica in it this can be very harmful to chickens. The small pebbles in the dirt will probably be enough. Keep us updated and ask me if you have any more questions!

I don't know! I don't have the bag anymore, I only bought it because my husbands friend who has over 100 chickens told me to get playground sand for her, so I did. I got it at Home Depot. She's obviously eating a lot of it and seems fine. I say this because a lot of her poops look sandy. I certainly don't want to take any risks however. Do I need to get rid of it? You would think that sand intended to put in children's sand boxes would be safe, but I guess it's certainly not a given. :/

How long has it been in the coop. I would research the kind of playground sand it was and see on the thin if it has silica in it. If it does then I would go to lowes and get construction or hardware sand with no silica in it and some small pebbles.or you can even put some filler dirt and put it in there.

I am very happy to report that when I went to get the egg that Precious laid today it was much bigger than her previous eggs. Apparently I am doing something righty! :D I am thrilled.

It might just of been that she was stressed
well I was hoping it was because I was spoiling her rotten with organic laying feed, and chicken scratch that I bought her and lots of fresh corn on the cob, and fruit and vegetables but I'm still happy if it's just because she isn't stressed anymore. :D
