I have found some similar threats but none that seem to quite answer my question. I have a selection of barred rocks and white rocks that have been laying smaller eggs that have very light colored shells. Sometime their shells almost seem white. When they are darker they almost seem to have a pinkish hue to them. I often hear of people who raise chickens who have huge eggs that are the size of your fist, most of mine are not even large, let alone extra large and are WAY lighter than any brown egg I've seen at a store.

My birds have plenty of feed and protein and I add oyster shell to their feed. They just turned 1 year old but have been having this problem for a little while. What are reasons for problems like this?

Thanks
