We only gave them what they needed to know, how many in the house, sex and age and thats it.

I'd rather give them the 100$ for the fine for not filling it out then to fill it out.


if you're over 18 and refuse to answer all or part of the Census, you can be fined up to $100. If you give false answers, you're subject to a fine of up to $500. If you offer suggestions or information with the "intent to cause inaccurate enumeration of population," you are subject to a fine of up to $1,000, up to a year in prison, or both

Hello, I think I could have waited to see the actual census. I'm not so excited to get it that I needed a preview.

Ooooooh this had been driving me crazy. So far I've gotten the letter, I've gotten 4 (yes, I said 4) handouts from my kids' schools telling us that the census is coming and its really important. I've seen all the commercials. I've seen all the handouts (different from the school ones) that they send to city hall that the workers there are supposed to hand out.

Yeesh! Each time it just grates. How much money are we spending to remind us about the census? Just send the dang thing already.

I love all the money they spend on the advertising to convince us how the world will be a better place if we all just fill out the census.

My favorite line is something like this...... "When we fill out the census, we make sure we get OUR FAIR SHARE of the money."

Hey, wanna know how I can get my "fair share" of the money? Lower my freaking taxes!!!!!!

Ours came yesterday. As if I didn't know the Census was getting fired up.

I have to say there is a certain amount of irony in that it is printed in SIX languages.



Uh, hello, I lived in Ecuador for 2 years. Now fluent in Spanish. Lived in France for 6 months. Can communicate in French, thought not using truly proper grammar.
The point is that I made the effort to learn the language, not just assume it would all be translated for me.

Yeah, I got one, too. I thought it was ridiculus. Before I opened it, I told the husband, "They must be doing the census online this year because this is not very thick."

Don't go there anyone. I am having a hard time with it too, but it doesn't belong on BYC.

Yep, waste of dollars sending it. I got one for my company. So I am I supposed to count my family twice????? Once for home, once for work??? Can't wait till they show up because I don't fill that one out...LOL Duh, here's your sign!
