All of my chicken lay eggs with what seems to be very small yolks.

They are fed layer pellets and have free choice oyster shell, they also eat a lot of bugs, snakes, frogs, kitchen scraps and greens etc.

Even the large eggs they lay have small yolks. Will they get bigger over time? They have been laying for almost a month now.

Thanks in advance:)

I feed mine cracked corn on top of everything you just listed and have no problen with yolk size. I scatter about 2cups on the ground when I let them out in the morning.

When I adopted 4 buff orpingtons from an overcrowded stinky coop their yolks were small, but they did not have access to greens, cracked corn, bugs or fresh air. They were living on layered pellets and stale bread only. The yolks are beautiful now.

I have 9 girls and 2 cups is probably way too much on top of everything else they have access to but they share with all the other birds in the neighborhood and a few squirrels.
