my chicken coop and pheasant/Peafowl coop smells horrible what would be safe to use to kill the wet poop/feed smell, need to put a roof on but we need to get it dried up first and smell free any suggestions

For a while I just threw vegetable scraps and crumbles on the ground for the birds and then as it rained with no roof on it eventually got gross and soupy so we tried putting a lot of sand down which eventually washed out next we tried several layers of pea gravel which got packed into the wet ground so we wanted a more permanent solution to get rid of the smell and keep it cleaner in there

How big is your run? Ours is 20ft x 20 ft and we pop open a bale of hay every week or 2. Put piles in each corner and the chickens will scratch it out for ya. We've also used sawdust, lawn clippings, dead leaves, etc.
We have two runs each is 10x20... are your runs open or do you have a roof on them i think that will make the difference with ours because there is a big tree that kinda covers it so it doesn’t get a chance to dry out

Ours is open and we have a tree kind of covering it as well...... we only have netting over ours, so it definitely gets sun and heat. I think you just need to put some absorbent filler in it, like sawdust, hay, grass clippings, etc.
