We have 2 reuans and 2 Swedish they are only 3 weeks old so we don't know what sex they are yet. The grand kids went crazy for them and before I could say "what are we going to do with ducks" my wife had bought them. I will say this for them they have a lot of personality and are funny to watch.

Hello from Knoxville! I'm new to byc and chickens as well! I've been lurking on the boards for about two months now and finally decided to join! I just started my little flock with 8 chicks I bought from Kenleigh Farms in Maryville. They are six weeks old and consist of three barred rocks, four barnyard mixes, and a lone lavender orpington. They grow so quickly!!

If anyone is interested in Araucana, I have listed some on http://www.showbirdauction.com/ !
I have no access to that server. Are you local?

Hi Searsmom, Yes, I am local in Sweetwater. I am not sure why you don't have access.... Maybe just google and type in showbird auction and see if it comes up that way. If you are local and looking, I have what I have put on auction and some 2 day old to week old chicks also. :)

Should be easy to find what you are looking for. Folks on this thread are spread all over east tn.
I deliver eggs (in addition to beef and lamb) to West Knoxville, Loudon, and Sweetwater weekly.
There is also the TN Valley Poultry Club - very active group

Well two now of my scovy hens have been laying, and others are nesting but no eggs from them yet maybe due to something that keeps burrowing in from neighbors barn next door that's locked (its a huge system of burrows that always are re dug every morn after i pack gravel back down through every evening). once i kill off four or more over hormonal drakeletts ill take corral around pen off so dogs can get in and tear it apart.

first fuzzy butt of the year, before otherfour of that setting hatched.

Newbie in maryvill tn here...never raised chickens but currently building a coop for egg layers...best place to get birds from around maryville? I have a few leads but always like options...thanks

Welcome to the thread.
It's getting a little late in the year to find chicks... I hatched every 5 days starting Jan 1st and will break down my brooders by May 1st.
You may be able to find teenage birds over the summer when people begin to widdle down prior to fall.
Some folks sell year round so you never know.
