I know, I should have posted this in the singles ads, but it's so hard to type with my beak. My buddy and I are Single Marans Roosters In Search Of Single Hens. The bachelor coop has just gotten a little too crowded and it's time for us to move on and find some ladies to love. I'm a Cuckoo Maran, my friend here is a Blue Cuckoo Maran, we're both about 6 months old and come from show quality stock.
If you're not familiar with our kind, the ladies lay the darkest brown eggs of any breed. There are some with feathered legs, and some without, we have them because the High Desert tends to get a little chilly. We're hardy, outdoors kind of guys but we can adapt easily to free range or confinement (we live in a coop with a large run right now because of some nasty dudes that live not far from here on BLM land).
We would love to find a new coop together, since we've grown up together, but understand that it might not be possible and need to strike out on our own. We're gentle, hand raised, and have an appreciation of the gourmet arts (yogurt, applesauce, and arugula are some of our favorites). While we do enjoy fine dining, Sunday dinners tend to make us nervous, so maybe we could keep it informal?
Send me a message! My name is Fred (top 2 photos), and my buddy the Blue Cuckoo is George (bottom 2 photos). Hope to meet you soon!
