geese taking care of a RAT problem??? nope thats a lie.. i have 7 geese and i have trapped 8 rats in the last 3 weeks,, they are eating my newly planted garden...
but i HAVE seen my 5 guienea hens MOB a snake and drive/chase it off of the property.... i recomend anybody afraid of snakes to get a group of guineas..

shot the POOR SNAKE!!!!???!... i curse all you snake killers to be over run with rodents of all shapes and sizes... BBBAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

i love snakes!!! right now i own..
4 rat snakes..(2 everglades,,2 lusistic texan)
3 thayeri kings (yellow, peach and green phase)
2 bredli python
3 ball python
5 corn snakes (butter, snow, candycane, carmel stripe, rev okeet)
2 giant millipedes
5 hissing cockaroaches

uaually when people say they "hunt" snakes they are catching them LIVE and either keeping them as pets or selling them into the pet trade (i dont buy wild caught)

5 african and 2 toulouse,,, and the toulouse are the mean ones!!!!
i did not raise them... i got them as rescues,, that might have something to do with it..
because my guineas are more protective over the big yard than the geese..
oh sorry my words were harsh..????? i should have said it has not worked for ME.... again sorry for sounding harsh!!!

if i uncover a mouse nest the chickens go nuts and fight over them ripping them apart and gobbling them down... but my geese never get involved...

.. i will actually will catch wild snakes around town,, take them to my house and PUT them under the hay stacks and chicken houses..
i know i have at least one coachwhip living under the med sized chicken house.... and have release several large gopher snakes under my house

no really they are great little bugs to own.. safe (dont bite or sting)and CLEAN (eat veggies)

they are all young... my female is only 2 1/2 inches long.. she was hissing at me today.. the rest are still to young to tell if they are males or females...

poor snake! aww man. hope his friends hear about it! crazy human with a gun!
i had a snake go after my ducks. no gun, but we attacked it with the hose and it freaked. it was so fat it got stuck in the chicken wire and was just throwing himself around trying to get out! he went after me the next day!! i threw stuff at him until he was in the pond too far to see.

Yea, I found a snake in the shop the other day. Thought it was a copperhead at first, but found out later it was a watersnake.... A watersnake that was too close to my chickens....

Note the ax in the head-chopping stump....

His body made a fine meal for a hawk that patrols that creek.

You can come to my house & take every snake around! I agree with "the only good snake is a dead snake". Some of them may not hurt me, but they will make me hurt myself!

Monday morning at work started off with a snake...someone was yelling down the hall "DON'T OPEN THE DOOR!" I looked out of my office towards the front door & there was a snake coming in UNDER the door. Needless to say, there was a good bit of screaming going on from the ladies in the office.
