ok so I just came from cleaning my chicken coop outside and almost had a heart attack. I was cleaning when out of nowhere I see a snake slithering down the fencing! I don't believe it was poisoness as it didn't bother the chickens or me, but I still don't want them in my coop, I've been putting snake poison all around the coop but that was about a week ago, which I guess faded away. I also know that rats hide all around my coop which makes me believe it was a rat snake. Do you guys have any ideas as to what I should do to prevent this?

Well, can't you just ignore them? Or maybe get someone to relocate them? Personally, i would rather see snakes than rats that spread disease.

Snakes can be great for the environment around you and your chickens and i see nothing threatening your flock with this... Theres not much you can do about this.. Snakes are very flexible creatures and can get through very tiny spaces. I had my pet ball python escape through the roof of it's cage somehow.. But the only thing you can do now is relocate it.
