Sneeze into your SLEEVE??!! Are you KIDDING me?!

I think infection control specialists decided that sneezing into your sleeve is much better than putting your infected aerosol droplets into the air that everyone breaths.

...even with a hankie you get the junk on your hands..

Sneezing into your sleeve has been standard in Health Care for years.

I carry tissues all the time, since I have allergies. DH does too, so there are tissues in both trucks and all over the house, as well as in our pockets. Not a perfect system, but better than a sleeve covered in snot brushing against me.

I totally agree with adopted - if you're sick, STAY HOME. I had to train my various bosses that having sick employees come in was a waste of resources in the long run.

I have told my kids to do it for the random sneeze, but if they are ill I have them keep a few tissues in each pocket. I once watched a sold motion video of a sneeze, and it is amazing the amount of droplets created in addition to the distance a sneeze blew them.

Ever crumple a tissue? My ds does that to see all the tissue particles go airborn.Hate it when he does it in the car!For me sometimes sneezing into a tissue results in a flurry of sneezing.

I keep my kids home during an illness, but without a doctors note every absence is unexcused. If we go over the limit we will go to court and face educational neglect charges. Going to the doctor costs $200. I wish schools just trusted me and let me keep the kids home when they need to be home-no questions asked.

I saw this too. I also thought sneezing into the crook of your elbow was gross and low class. UNTIL it saw this and the CDC video. Yes, it was the CDC who spread this you may thank them later.

If you are sick or have allergies stay home and carry tissues. Otherwise yes, please sneeze into the crook of your arm - I would be grateful.

Most people cannot manage to stay home for allergies and every sniffle. So do us all the favor of using sanitizer liberally and sneezing into the crook of your arm if you don;t have a quick tissue. Sorry, speckled hen. I understand.

What's wrong Speckledhen? Don't you want a hug from someone with a snotty shirt??

Edited to add: This makes me think of a good friend of mine. She NEVER uses anything BUT her shirt to wipe her kids noses!! It's so gross!

I've pointed out to her that it's disgusting and I'd be happy to get her a kleenex but she declines....says it's how she does it and I'm not the only one to have made a comment.

Who chooses to have kid snot all over their shirt???

If everyone is phobic about germs, how about a face mask?? Try sneezing into that one and your nose and mouth would be wet!

Well, I do love this topic, though I am very mixed about it.
First of all, I am definitely a clean person, and I am polite around people. When I am sick, I do try to stay home. At the same time schools make it tough when you stay home because then you have piles of work to do.... Anyways my point it if your sick (with the flu or something very contagious) STAY HOME

But, when it comes to sneezing (assuming you don't have a tissue on hand, I would rather see you need into you arm, then your hand. Your hand goes on handles, pencils papers other peoples hands, you wave them around everywhere. While your elbow, well it really doesnt. Now im not saying do it when your sick, but we all sneeze once in awhile.

You know what I see all the time in school? I see people just sneeze, not covering there mouth or anything. They just sneeze in the open air. It is so GROSS and Bloody rude. I have yelled at people before because of it. Actually, last week at a chicken show someone sneezed all over there chicken, I was just thinking to myself, well jeez that guy has a brain the size of the chicken he just sneezed all over.
So, i am mixed, but overall, i would rather see a little kid sneeze on there elbow, than me.
