Sneeze into your SLEEVE??!! Are you KIDDING me?!

PS....I will take an elbow sneezer over a nose blower at the table anyday.

I've heard the best way to not get sick is to not touch your face. I wash my hands a lot, but it's hard not to touch your face. I carry sanitizer in my car and wash my hands after I meet someone and have to shake hands. If I have been sick, as in a cold I beg off shaking hands explaining that I have been sick. That was one nice thing about the H1N1 thing. A lot of people didn't want to shake hands.

And I'll take a elbow sneezer anytime over someone who puts one finger over their nostril and blows the other one ~ sending stuff to the gournd.

Makes me gag, and I want to smack them upside their head.

I think April has a good point here. When I had my kids, they told us to put babies on their stomachs so if they threw up, they wouldn't choke. Now, they're telling just the opposite, so research may change the advice we're being given today.

As far as sneezing, my DH has wet sneezes and I don't. He'll spray the car window and I never do, though, yes, germs can spread either way. I certainly don't advocate sneezing in someone's face-- from the protests here, you'd think that's what I said and I didn't. The "sneeze into your sleeve" has never been part of my life experience and I can't get over the nastiness of it so I'll do it the old fashioned way I was taught as a child. I'm more likely to get sick from you than you from me since I'm rarely ill. Maybe it's from avoiding human contact for the last nine years. You people are germ factories!

ETA: I never blow my nose and if I did, it would certainly not be at the table! Manners, manners!

If an item of clothing is the choice, why not your shirt tail, or your hat, or your T-shirt, or your pants leg, or undershorts, or ?. Naah, go ahead sneeze in your sleeve then wave your arm around or brush against others- that does make more sense now that you insist.

Well, I occasionally sneeze into my sleeve, when I'm not sick though.

I sneeze whenever I get bright sunlight in my eyes, not sure why, but it just causes me to sneeze almost every time without warning.

And when it comes without warning, I'd much rather sneeze into my sleeve than in my hands. Sorry I don't carry a tissue box wherever I go when I'm not sick...?

EXACTLY!

I work in a fast paced, fast food restaurant - McDonald's

We are told to wash our hands on the hour/every hour - Health Dept. policy
Winter is very harsh for me as I do get bad colds, and every time I have to sneeze or cough - I do so on my right sleeve.
Do you realize how many customers ask cashiers to go wash their hands after watching them sneeze/cough into their hands/napkins?
I've never gotten asked to go wash my hands (been working there for 3 years), except after taken money and had to get food bagged up, during lockdown...I didn't have a runner.
We are told, if we have to sneeze/cough - to do so into our sleeves, so doing so, keeps our hands free to bag orders. I cannot afford to stay away from work every time I get a cold.
I HAVE told my work, that I will not work, if I am throwing up......even for that, they make you come on in, or stay until your shift is over! Now to that, I say - NO!

No bashing about the job I have, as I am thankful I have a job for now.
