I have a bantum rooster who has had a hard time here recently. Two weeks ago his hen who he adored was snatched by a hawk. Shortly after that I noticed he was sneezing. He is just finishing a "stress molt" from a month or so ago when I got him and he almost drowned. I do know that he was very distraught about he getting taken. I have been giving him vitamin and electrolytes and have since tried giving a little apple cider vinegar. He is very lively, crows perfectly, eats well (though he seems a little thin to me personally), and today it is very cool outside he is shivering though he doesn't want to go in the coop (temps are in the 60's and they have been in the 100's for the past 2 weeks). I debated on worming him but have never wormed a chicken personally before and have no clue as to what to buy and where to get it and even if that is what I need. He is not coughing, no nasal discharge, no other problems other than sneezing and being somewhat slim for my taste. Any suggestions???

I had some sneezing (and coughing) roosters and the vet put the whole flock on Terramycin-343 (Antibiotic). You might try that first and see if he improves. I purchased a packet at my local feed store...they should have it but if not you can order it online. Good luck!

I used 1/2 a packet for one gallon of water. The packet I purchased was 4.78 oz (135.5 grams) ... or the directions say to use 400-800 mg/gal.

Don't you just love the way the put all these directions on things. I want something that just says... put the entire contents of this packet in a gallon of water... period!

LOL I agree completely! Thanks so much for telling me. I am going to get some right now and start him on it. I PM'ed you to get the dose before I checked back here, sorry! Thanks so much for the info!!
