Hello everyone!

One of my girls has been sneezing occasionally so I've decided to give her some VetRx for the next couple days as a precaution. Is it OK to eat the eggs? Any advice on what to do with a sneezing chicken would also be appreciated. She is not lethargic, does not have a runny nose/discharge or a swollen face. Just sneezing occasionally.

Thanks!

Vet Rx is an herbal remedy—oils of rosemary, oregano, camphor, pine in a vegetable oil base, so no worries about tossing eggs. I have never used it, but some think it helps with respiratory issues. Sneezing can sometimes be environmental from dust or mold in the coop. It helps to have a lot of ventilation from one side to the other, and prevent wet spot or dust. Dusty feed sometimes stimulates sneezing during mealtimes. If other chickens start sneezing and do so every few minutes, I might suspect a virus called infectious bronchitis. But an occasional sneeze without other symptoms usuually doesn’t mean a lot.
