Thank you..... but it is real......? I don't know what or who to believe on this thread any more........I am waiting for everyone to jump out of my cupboards shouting SNIPE!!!! ......

We actually have gone snipe hunting, and you shoot what is pictured above

(That is a real bird in the picture) I think this thread though is for the fake hunts where people put "cityslickers" into the woods lol for a night.

Snipe hunting YAY! Oh what fond memories! Back a bit

when I was little in Indiana, the cousins took little city girl me out one night Snipe Hunting. I was like twelve??? Anyway, they'd played way too many mean boy tricks for me to fall for this. Maybe it was the looks on the grown-ups faces too, that gave it away. It was a lovely dark summer evening when I "eagerly" listened to J & J's instructions. After they'd left to chase the snipes my way, I snuck off with the sack and coaxed in a barn cat, and hurried back yelling whatever silly call they'd told me. Then I can only imagine their shock when I started hollering "I CAUGHT ONE" over and over. The cousins appeared, I held out the bag and oh-so-innocently began to excitedly describe the little black snipe with the white stripes...while the barn cat began to move around...gosh THAT was SO funny! Nobody ever talked about that night I got left alone in the middle of some dark corn field by my mean ol' cousins.
