Snow coming, must get to store!

Hey Bird, I thought you were a boyscout.

Be prepared!

Well, with over 100 birds, they go through it really fast. Monday I did sell 4 peacocks, 28 Salmon Faverolles, & 15 Coturnix, so that will cut the bill down a little, until my others grow & starting eating me out of house & home.

Ran to Kroger, came home and the truck (meaning DH) is home and parked bass ackwards.

Whatta ya know he went and got firewood. Bit eerie since I was just talking about it here, then because I thought about it I checked the weather and it said a low of 27 was coming in and I thought Eh, we're good... evidently it changed between when I saw it and DH did to 19 instead. Makes me shiver just thinking about it, but the thought of fire roasted tators and mallows warms me right back up.

DW made me put gas logs in the fireplace, because of the mess wood made. I sure miss my REAL fire!

I'm sorry to here that. I have had a fire place for a long time but this fall I took advantage of some tax credits and put in a Buck Stove fireplace insert. It is great! The wife loves it and it has cut my gas heating bill in half.

I have two teenage boys who don't mind getting wood, splitting it or bringing it up to the house.

I had to go out and fill the kerosene cans in anticipation of electrical failure. Yes, she calls me the "boyscout." The Amish market is open today, and I need fresh vegetables. I hate to go. It's going to be a zoo. They're predicting another 6-9" tonight.

This is what's called a "French Toast Emergency".

Everyone rushes to the store for bread, milk and eggs. Even if they never buy them normally!
