snow ducks

I found a 6 way scratch all my birds love they have huge appetites right now getting plump for winter lol they also love whole corn. All Non GMO
Mine got a rush when i offered them cracked corn first, but now they are back to their meat-bird crumbles (18% protein) as their favorite.

to be a little bit more clear on the corn, we have been mixing it into their daily food about 25% worth a day. they will eat it in that form... but if its not mealworms, then they dont care one ounce

I don’t know about anyone else’s ducks, but mine are done with this cold snap. It was -1 degree F last night. Too cold for even a short bath in a rubber tote! Everyone’s been stuck in the barn. Daphne’s not happy. Word is that it is supposed to get up to 39 degrees tomorrow, which is definitely swimming weather!

-1F is lousy cold and i bet there was some windchill too? My Runners refuse to get in their pool when it is just below the freezing mark. How is Daphne doing?

She’s doing well, thank you! It’s up to a positively balmy 28 degrees so far this morning, so she got to take a bath, which has put her in a better mood. She did lay an egg (halfway decent looking) overnight - her first in almost a week. I’m surprised she’s still laying anything with the lack of sunlight. Everyone’s out getting some fresh air right now. I’ll have to get pictures in a bit! How’s your crew doing?

I slept in today and was woken up by my ducks calling me to release them: »QUAACK WAACK WAAK humon where are you? We wont OUT!« - My bedroom is at the opposite side of the house and i could hear them loud and clear!
When the saw me coming out everybody was quacking/rasping excited and gathering at the door and when it opened they exploded out, the females went flying straight to the pool.
Everybody is happy now outside, ~50°F, we had rain overnight and - don't ask how dirty they look! I think i have to run them through the washer before letting them back in… ;)

I had to set mines small pool on the patio so they keep it relatively clean between dumpings tomorrow will be their last day for at least the week so they better enjoy today. My gander so far is the only one interested in a bath
