No snow sticking here, but we got some flakes this morning. Odd because we usually get snow on the ground whenever it is predicted in the greater Puget Sound area. I'm certainly not complaining, mind you.

We also got some flakes this morning, Grandpa said we are suppose to get more tonight. Why oh why are the week-ends also so crappy and the week work days so nice.

It's melting rally fast but some more was falling just a minute ago... and now the sun is out again. Freaky weather for sure. Only about 4 inches on the ground now.

I'm glad no power was lost here. My meat birds are outside in the playhouse coop with a heat lamp. They will be 5 weeks old on wed/thurday. I just weighed them, they are about 3 lbs a piece after taking off a quarter lb as they were stuffed full of food!. Turkeys are just under 3 lbs. However, I've had failure to thrive in two of the 8 cornish this year. My guess is the batch since I've never had this problem with the birds I pick up at the Everett co op. I'll still be willing to have birds shipped in the future though, since all the silkies are here in one piece and perky as ever!

Here's one of the hens today.

Wow...My chickens will not walk in the snow. I have to put straw in the run during the winter or they won't go outside the coop...silly chickens

That is a great pic Silkie!!!

The weather here in Spokane hasn't been so great either. We had a small blizzard yesterday, but it didn't stick. Every weekend I try and build the new chicken coop, and every weekend it snows or rains or both! The chicks are getting a little big for the basement, so hopefully I can get the coop built soon. So far I have the floor done, which is great considering I've never built anything with a floor before...and it's 12'x16'...and I got it LEVEL!!!

Hard to believe that it will be May next week! Still feels like February here!
