OK, one picture - greetings from sunny Northwest Florida!

It was supposed to be 18F this morning (DH got me the batteries for the new thermostat sensors and I'll be putting them up as soon as the snow melts).

They're fine. Crowding all around my feet this morning complaining that the water wasn't there when they got off the roost. I did notice that they were taking a lot less space on the roost last night than usual.

I've got a wind break tarp on the downhill wall, the one that doesn't normally get wind, but *might* get some in a swirling storm. They *could* get down onto a lower roost in the more sheltered section where I had the integration pen if they wanted to, but they haven't done it yet.


How very beautiful!

I regret not doing wind breakers at their level all around the run or atleast in 2 sides...but thankfully we will be some warmer today! 30s!!!

The ice/snow in the run is mostly melted but the most chooks in my main coop are staying put. It's quite sunny out too so I guess chickens gonna chick. Prissy little things who can't have damp feet.

Today the last of the snow melted out of the shadow of the house. Everything is wet, but no longer frozen.

We're forecast to have a few more freezing nights and then up to the 50's and 60's for daytime highs next week. I'll be able to plant my peas Friday, I think.

It is suppose to be negative 30 and i dont have supplemental hesting for my 3 chickens will they be okay.
