We've just fed it some mushy chick feed, and it did seem like it ate some. Currently, it weighs 8 grams, we're hoping it will weigh some more after it eats more. If anyone has any advice, I'm still open for anything.

It seems that the quail has gotten a bit fluffier, and a bit louder with its chirps. It even tried to stand a bit! We'll have to keep feeding it once an hour, but hopefully, it can survive through the night.
Thank you for posting! I just got eggs in the mail for the first time and I'm learning so much from your posts. I hope the little guy pulls through

They don't need to eat and drink much for the first day or so since they are carrying some leftover nutrition from the egg. Even when they don't have their legs under them they peck crumbs if you sprinkle them nearby. Once it's up the others will show it around as well.

My main concern with a chick like this is that the others sometimes start pestering the new chick when they aren't fluffy yet. Also, since it can't move very well yet it's important to keep it from getting chilled or overheated. Good luck and good job so far!

So today it seemed as if the chick was improving a lot, the toes uncurled and the legs were moving into position. All seemed well until it stopped breathing and gave up. It died roughly an hour ago. Thanks for any advice given, I truly appreciate the support. Thank you for listening, I'll keep posting for the other quail too. Hopefully, they can live for what Terry couldn't.

:( Sorry
