So our Barred Rocks are 6 mo old and just started laying this week. Of 9 hens, we are not getting consistency, yet. But, we have 11 roosters and they have been super friendly.

When my son was making dinner, he noticed the super cool BULLSEYE on one of the eggs. We were all intrigued until the next egg--

Each of these eggs has been collected daily (in the same area) and sat in the kitchen. The oldest it could be in 7 days old and it hasn't been under a hen or in an incubator. So, how did it begin developing? According to google, it looks like its on day 5. What do y'all think?

I think that it is a blood spot and not a developing embryo. You are aware that you have ten roosters too many, right?

LOL@too many roosters. Yes, 9 of them are going to the freezer on Saturday (with 50 broilers) and we have 36 more pullets that are under a month old. So, we will have 2 roosters.

So you think thats a blood spot? It was just really big. We have never done the rooster thing and it SOOOOO exciting! TY for the help
