It's day 20 of incubation, #1 (Phil, my daughter has named!) pipped at 7:30 this morning, #2 pipped around 11:00am. They're both chipping away slowly! We were so excited I let the kids stay home from school!!! We are still trying to be patient and praying they'll be ok...now looking for advise on fermenting feed, don't want to poison them! TIA!!

Welcome!

Any bubbies yet?

This is a very active thread on Fermented Feeds that you might find interesting: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/645057/fermented-feeds-anyone-using-them

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! This is such an exciting time!! I woke up around 7:00 this morning and "Phil" had just hatched!! He's looking great! #2 hatched around 10:30 but I'm a little concerned because his umbilical cord is still attached and hasn't detached from the shell yet. Should I be worried?? #3 is just about to hatch and #4 is slowly getting there. This is the most exciting thing I've ever done besides having my own kids!!! LOL...Pics to follow!

Here are the babies so far!! #2, now named Cluckles!, has detached from the shell!! Woo hoo! #3 is very close to making its appearance! I am one happy Chickie Mama!!!:)
