It's a hard habit to break.....

Wow! My husband and I agree! We are hooked! We started with 10, then it went to 17. And in the past two weeks we have added 9 more! They are such a joy and a de-stresser!! We love to get our lawn chairs and just sit in the coop with the girls. Our friends thought we were nuts until they came over and hung out in the coop. And now they too are hooked! Our girls are very friendly and loveable!! They love to eat raisins and sit in our laps and on our shoulders!!!

We haven't even gotten any eggs yet and we are hooked for life!!!!

AHHH yes, my dh is going to freak when he gets back from his Natn'l Guard two week thing. When he left we had a dozen eggs in a homemade bator that we didn't plan on, they hatched earlier than expected (didn't know when they were laid) Since the bator was empty I had to get silkie eggs, 16 to be exact and have an order of chicks (15 more, not counting packing peanuts)coming from Ideal on June 30. I don't even have a coop yet! Guess he will be busy man

He's probably going to say he's gonna stay in the coop

LOL, you are so right about this being an addiction! We started with 2 chicks in April. One was a roo, one was a pullet. The roo had to go, we are in the city. The pullet was killed by a 'coon

. Got 2 full grown hens from a neighboring city, and love them so much, we had to get more!

Went to the feed store this weekend with the intention of getting 2 Arucanas....came home with 9 (a variety of chicks). We lost one this morning, and I have thought about going back to get a few more....

I've even told Dh we should put the house up for sale so we can get a better piece of land....for the chickens!

* Are they??? Really?? Huh-- wonder how I never knew that!!! Explains the screaming in my brain saying "GET MORE CHICKENS, IDIOT!!! GET MORE CHICKENS NOWWWW!!!!"

I have been told that I jave an addictive personality. And my lovely little chickies hehe feel right into that. Got two chicks day before Easter. 1 a week later. 2 four weeks later. 25 a week and a half ago. Those are now down to 18 ( Cornish Xs) Have an order coming in around the 7 of July. That order is 23 cornish roasters, 1 BO, 1 RIR, 1 rare mystery chick. I have no clue what has been happening since Easter

I couldn't agree more! I've had my flock for less than 2 weeks & I find myself outside with them a dozen times a day.
